Jeremy Stringer was recently promoted to the position of Controller at Citizens National Bank.
As Bank Controller, Stringer now reports directly to the bank president and CEO and serves on the bank’s Executive Leadership Team. He also serves as chairman of the bank’s Investment Committee and Asset and Liability Committee. The Controller is responsible for all of the accounting and finance activities of both the bank and its holding company (Citizens National Banc Corp.), including regulatory reporting.
These activities include, but are not limited to, asset and liability management, investments, treasury functions, accounts payable, shareholder accounting, and budgeting. He also oversees the bank’s public accounting firm’s external independent audit of the consolidated financial statements of the bank and its holding company.
Stringer joined the bank’s Accounting and Finance Department in 2008 as finance supervisor, and was promoted to the position of assistant treasurer earlier this year. He is a May 2007 cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University, with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree, and his concentration is in the area of banking and finance. He is also a member of the LSU Graduate School of Banking’s Class of 2014.
Commenting on Stringer’s recent promotion, Bank President and CEO Archie McDonnell, Jr., said, “I have always been very impressed with Jeremy’s level of intelligence, work ethic and family and community orientation.”
Stringer and his wife Bethany are members of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church and are expecting their first child in May 2012. He is also a member of the Meridian Kiwanis Club and volunteers with Love’s Kitchen and Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church’s IronMen Ministries, which assists elderly members of their congregation.
He also enjoyed participating as a member of the church’s Dominican Republic Mission Team earlier this year.
