MPD look for robbery suspects

MERIDIAN —     Detectives with the Meridian Police Department are searching for two suspects in the robbery of a man early Wednesday morning.

According to reports provided by the MPD, a man who lived in the area of 22nd Avenue and 19th Street was standing in the driveway of his residence at about 1:22 a.m. when the two suspects, one believed to have been a male and the other a female, approached him from behind. The victim stated in the report the two suspects said they had a gun and demanded the victim hand over his wallet.

After the victim gave the female his wallet, he was told to stand still. The two suspects reportedly fled north on foot toward 22nd Street.

The victim was not hurt in the incident.

The report said MPD patrol units talked to the victim and then patrolled the area in search of the two suspects but no one matching the vague description given by the victim was found.

If anyone has information pertaining to this or any other crime in Meridian they are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 601-485-1860. Your information may lead to a cash reward.
