MERIDIAN —
A Meridian man was arrested early Friday morning following an attempted armed robbery of a store, according to a Meridian Police Department report
Zachariah Harris, 34, was charged with attempted armed robbery.
According the report, police responded shortly after 10 a.m. to M and B Grocery on 26th Ave.
Officers were told a black male carrying a knife entered the store and attempted to rob the store, but ran away on foot after the attempt was unsuccessful. Uniformed officers and plainclothes detectives saturated the area and minutes later two detectives caught Harris as he attempted to run away, the report states.
Harris was booked into the Lauderdale County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
