Kemper Co. honors nation, veterans

The Kemper County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual July 4th Celebration and Veteran's Service today at the Kemper County Courthouse in DeKalb.

The celebration starts at 9 a.m. with the Harvest Time Singers.

The Veteran's Service will begin at 10 a.m.

Guest speakers for the event include Capt. Charles Gibson and U.S. Rep. Greg Harper.

Also on the program is the presentation of the Sonny Montgomery Award and the laying of a wreath by father and son National Guard members Jerome Jackson and Stephen Jackson.
