Quitman man identified as crash victim

Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department officials said this morning a Quitman man lost his life Wednesday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident in Lauderdale County.
Terence Ervin Atkinson, 27, died of injuries he sustained as a result of the crash that occurred at about 4:50 p.m. on Valley Road near Dr. Brock Road, said officials.
A passenger in the Nissan Stanza that apparently lost control and struck a tree, is listed in critical condition this morning in a Meridian hospital.
