Mississippi man's body found in La. bayou

WESTDALE, La. (AP) — The body of a 22-year-old Mississippi man was found Wednesday, in a bayou under the Northwest Louisiana bridge from which he fell the day before and drowned.

Red River sheriff's Chief Tracy Scott identifies the man as Adam Simpson of Stonewall, Miss.

Rescue and dive teams from DeSoto and Red River parishes searched Bayou Pierre, which runs between the parishes, for seven hours Tuesday and 5½ hours Wednesday.

Authorities say Simpson and three co-workers from a natural gas rig were on the bridge when Simpson slipped and fell. Two others jumped in to try to find him.
