The “Friends of Mississippi Veterans” Executive Board recently held its first organizational meeting to install board members and appoint officers.
The nine member "Friends" board is made up of prominent business and civic leaders from across the state. They are: Ann Alexander of Meridian, Bobby Chain of Hattiesburg, BG (ret) Leon Collins of Jackson, Dave Dennis of Gulfport, Spence Dye of Jackson, MG (ret) Jim Lipscomb of Greenville, R.V. Martin of Jackson, Mike McGrevey of Starkville and Jack Winstead of Lawrence.
The Friends of Mississippi Veterans is a Mississippi non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote public interest in and support for the Mississippi State Veterans Affairs Board, State Veterans Nursing Homes and the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The Friends of Mississippi Veterans will raise funds to benefit Mississippi Veterans through individual and corporate memberships, dues and donations.
