When she's running around the house playing or doing her homework this little girl can always be found with a smile on her face.
Abbey Leach, 7, is a student at Southeast Elementary School and she works hard to do her best. Abbey is in the second grade in Mrs. Culpepper's class and said she makes all A's.
Abbey said after school she likes to skate around the house, ride four-wheelers and spend time with one of her best friends, Lauren Yeager.
While Abbey enjoys spending time playing and having fun, she knows the importance of school and what it will mean to her.
"I couldn't ask for a better student," said Leach's mother, Stephanie. "She knows school comes first and homework needs to be done first and she follows those rules."
With a spotless behavior record and a first place award from the regional science fair this year, Abbey is up and on her way in school. She said her favorite subject is math.
Abbey said the person she looks up to the most is her mom.
"She takes care of me when I'm sick," said Abbey. She said she wants to be like her mom.
She also enjoys spending time with her pet dogs, Bear, Boomer, Jack, and her rabbit, Rabbie. Abbey also loves spending time with her grandmother, Nancy Leach.
Nancy Leach plays piano at First Baptist Lauderdale and is teaching Abbey how to play the piano as well.
Abbey attends Russell Baptist Church and is on her way to being a young woman who will impact her society with a positive attitude and an addictive smile.
