WASHINGTON, DC – Third District Congressman Chip Pickering will host his annual Military Academy Day on Saturday, March 24 at Madison Central High School in Madison County from 9 a.m.- 11am.
The Military Academy Day provides interested students and parents an opportunity to learn more about our country’s military academies, requirements for admission and the appointment process. Congressman Pickering and members of his staff will be joined by representatives from each of the five service academies: U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Merchant Marine Academy and Coast Guard Academy.
“This Military Academy Day provides an opportunity for those interested in learning more about, or attending our country’s service academies,” Pickering explained. “Many young people from Mississippi have graduated from these academies and excelled in all walks of life as a result of the quality education and training they received at these institutions.”
High school students preparing for college within the next couple of years and considering the service academies option should attend. Junior high students interested in the service academies are also encouraged to attend and begin the process early. The event is free and open to the public. No registration necessary.
