MERIDIAN —
Throughout the summer months, detectives with the Meridian Police Department have been working numerous cases involving counterfeit money being spread around Meridian.
Now, detectives have apparently zeroed in on one individual whom they would like to question in connection with one or more of these alleged incidents.
According to MPD Capt. James Sharpe, who is the commander of the department's Criminal Investigation Division, detectives are currently seeking information on the possible whereabouts of Trevelle Shontae Fluker.
"Fluker is currently wanted on a sale of counterfeit U.S. currency warrant," said Sharpe. "After concluding an investigation into counterfeit bills being manufactured and passed in the city we believe Fluker to be involved."
Sharpe said Fluker is a 25-year old black male standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing around 156 pounds. Sharpe said Fluker has brown eyes and black low cut hair.
Sharpe has said previously the number of counterfeit money cases being reported this summer is no more or no less than in previous years.
Sharpe said fast food restaurants and convenience stores have been the main locations where funny money has been detected but reports have also come from other types of businesses as well.
MPD detectives ask that anyone who has information on the counterfeit bills possibly being manufactured and passed in the area, or the whereabouts of Trevelle Shontae Fluker to contact the Meridian Police Department at 601-485-1893, 601-485-1859 or CrimeStoppers at 601-485-1860.
