MERIDIAN — The East Mississippi Cheerleading squad "Scorpions" competed Feb. 16 and 17 at the JAMFEST Nationals in Mobile, Ala., and brought home the first place trophy as well as received the highest score for Level 2. The team was awarded the title of National Champions. Each girl on the squad was awarded a National Champion jacket. As Grand champions they also received a paid bid to the U.S. Finals in April. Coaches are Laura Bowles Posey, owner, and Bradley Presley. Members of the squad are: Back row (left to right) Sarah Brannan, Mauren Dooley, Malley Hudson, Skylar Scott, Kate Brannan, Chandler Hogan, Lana Leigh Irby, and Paxton Myers. On the front row (left to right) are: Alexa Harper, Sailor Hinson, Makenzie Bohl, Taylor Ketchens, Alyssa Boykin, Halle Mayatt, Elizabeth Hale, Rosalie Doherty, and Kayla Goforth.
