Old school funk and old-time favorites coming to Temple

The Temple Theater has scheduled Zapp, Slave, Carl Carlton, and the Stone City Band for its "New Year's Eve Explosion."

Doors will open at 7 p.m. Entertainment is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. with a dance party in the ballroom immediately following.

Tickets are $37.50, and are available at the Music Emporium and Sam's Fashions in Meridian, and AJ's Fashions in York, Ala. and Demopolis, Ala.

On New Year's Day State Sen. Videt Carmichael and former State Sen. Charles Pittman will join Jacky Jack White and cast of The Sucarnochee Revue for a special Happy New Year Concert beginning at 7 p.m.

Liz Marchese, North Carolina singer/songwriter Stephen Corbett, and the regular cast members will join the Senators for the award-winning radio show.

The Sucarnochee Revue regulars include White, J. Burton Fuller, Britt Gully, Track 45, and Mississippi Chris Sharp and the Jangalang String Band.
