An autopsy being performed at this minute should tell detectives in Meridian if they are in fact investigating a homicide or a suicide after a black man was discovered in Gallaghers Creek Wednesday afternoon by some children.
The man, whose name is still being withheld by authorities at this time, was found at about 4:48 p.m. at the bottom of the creek by several children playing in the 4400 block of Terry Street in Meridian.
Officials with the MPD said they should be able to provide an update of the case this afternoon.
