Toys Wanted

Marines from Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron One on board Naval Air Station Meridian joined Geoffrey and area motorcycle riders for the kick off of this year's Toys for Tots program, Thursday, Nov. 5. Last year, Marines collected 7,030 toys, which were distributed to children locally in a nine county area. This year's goal is to collect 10,000 new, unwrapped toys. Drop off locations include the Geoffrey store, Wal-Marts in Meridian and Newton, Sam's Club, Meridian Yamaha, the Radio People Station, the Marine Corps Recruiting Station, and H&R; Block locations. The program, which celebrates its 62nd year, also began nationally on Thursday. For more information or to find out how to help this year's campaign, call Toys for Tots Coordinator Sgt. Joseph Killian at (601) 679-2407.
