Lt. Ruston Russell recites a poem during the memorial service for Meridian Police Department K-9 Nero, Thursday evening. Owner, Sergeant Chris Swanner and his family raised Nero into helping the police with discovering millions of dollars with the Drug Task Force. The ceremony concluded with a prayer from evangelist Guyton Montgomery, followed by the playing of Taps.
