Authorities searching for missing teen

By Brian Livingston

Law enforcement authorities in Meridian have issued a bulletin for the public to help in locating a missing teen.

According to Meridian Police Department Capt. James Sharpe, detectives with the MPD's Juvenile Division are searching for Danika Miller, a 16-year old female who was last seen on Aug. 11 in the area of 18th Street and Martin Luther King Drive.

Miller is described as standing about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. She is a dark complected African-American with short black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a brown and white shirt and sandals.

"We have information stating that Miller may have hitched a ride to the Canton area of the state," said Sharpe in a press release Tuesday.

If anyone comes in contact with Miller or knows her whereabouts, authorities ask that they notify the Meridian Police Department or CrimeStoppers at (601) 484-6846.
