MERIDIAN —
A weekend altercation between two individuals resulted in one being shot in the leg by the other.
Meridian police responded to a shooting call Saturday at 4 p.m., in the 300 block of C Street. Upon their arrival, the victim, a 43-year-old male, had left the scene, but the suspect, Christopher Ryan Thompson, 20, was still on the scene.
The weapon used in the shooting, a small caliber handgun, was recovered. Thompson has been charged with aggravated assualt and his bond is set at $150,000.
The victim reported to a local hospital for treatment. According to police, the wound was deemed non-life threatening, however his status while still in the hospital is unknown.
