Happy Birthday Navy

MERIDIAN — Petty Officer 2nd Class Casey H. Kyhl

Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class David Neiman rings the bell of the attack cargo ship USS Yancey (AKA-93) in honor of the Navy's 237th birthday. The bell, currently on loan to Naval Air Station Meridian from the Naval History and Heritage Museum, sits in front of the Naval Technical Training Center Administration building. The ringing of the bell serves as a reminder of history, heritage and accomplishments of the naval service, and it is an enduring tradition of the Navy birthday celebration.
