MERIDIAN —
A Lauderdale County man has been arrested and charged in connection with the sexual assaults on two small children, according to Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie Friday afternoon.
Sollie said Dex Hunter Stone, 24, has been charged with three counts of sexual battery of a child and one count of lustful touching of a child. Sollie said Stone was arrested Friday morning following an investigation into allegations from the parents of a six-year-old and 10-year-old boy.
Sollie said on January 5, the parents of the two boys came to the sheriff's department to report the alleged incidents involving Stone and their two sons. Sollie said Stone was an acquaintance of the family and at times had babysat the two boys. Sollie said the charges came during the investigation in which a forensic interview was conducted with the two boys.
Sollie said Stone was placed on $20,000 bond for each of the three counts of sexual battery and $10,000 bond on the lustful touching charge. Sollie said Stone has since posted bond and is currently out of jail.
Sollie said Stone was an employee of the Lauderdale County School District. Sollie said Stone worked in the cafeteria at Southeast Lauderdale Middle School. Sollie said Lauderdale County School District Superintendent Randy Hodges, upon hearing of the charges Friday, presented Stone with termination papers releasing Stone from his position with the school district.
Sollie said Stone's case will be presented to the next Lauderdale County grand jury for review.
