MERIDIAN —
Detectives with the Meridian Police Department are searching for a person who Thursday night fired shots into the front door of a home.
Lt. Dean Harper, commander of the MPD's Criminal Investigation Division, said Friday no one inside the home was hit by the gunfire.
"Two shots were fired into the front door and then the subject fled the scene," said Harper. "We aren't sure at this time if the person was on foot or in a vehicle."
Harper said the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of 28th Avenue. He said detectives arrived to process the scene and collect physical evidence.
If anyone has information about this incident they are asked to call the MPD at 601-485-1893 or Crime Stoppers at 601-485-1860.
