MERIDIAN —
Meridian’s FOX 30 is holding a local open audition with the winner guaranteed an audition in front of "American Idol" producers in New Orleans in mid-July.
FOX 30’s Open Audition will be held one day only on June 28, from 4 p.m.-7p.m. at The Palms on North Hills Street in Meridian.
“Last year, Skylar Laine won our open audition and the guaranteed audition pass," said Mike Reed, FOX 30’s station owner.
“She amazed our judges, the producers of "American Idol" and the world with her talent — finishing in the Top 5 during last season’s "American Idol." Now she is about to embark on a whirl-wind tour of the United States. We are very proud of her success and that we played a part in it. Now we are giving another hopeful the same chance.”
Reed said local registration and auditions will begin at 4 p.m. and will end promptly at 7 p.m. Anyone auditioning must be prepared to sing at least one song of their choice in front of the judges and audience, and are asked to bring a valid ID. Anyone under 18 years of age must have a legal guardian with them.
Anyone interested in auditioning must be a legal U.S. citizen or a permanent U.S. resident who is eligible to work full-time in the United States; and is 15 to 28 years old on June 5, 2012.
