Performance will raise money for Boys and Girls Club

MERIDIAN —     A Hattiesburg performance group will be visiting Meridian next week to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club.

The group, Southern Inspiration and Praise Performing Arts, will perform the gospel play "Love with no Limits" on August 27 at the Boys and Girls Club building on 45th Ave., and will donate a portion of the proceeds to the organization.

Group founder Alonzo Williams is a former Meridian resident and former Boys and Girls Club member who has worked to help the Boys and Girls Club in the past.

Southern Inspiration and Praise Performing Arts runs an after school performing arts group in Hattiesburg, and tours the surrounding region to raise money for various causes. As Williams put it, "We go into different communities to help wherever there's a need."

"Love with no Limits" is a gospel play centering around "a young lady who puts limits on love."

"There's singing. It's got some funny parts in it, some inspirational parts, some serious parts," Williams said. "Everything is centered around the ministry as well."

Tickets to the performance are available in advance at Sam's Fashion on 5th Street or at the door. Prices are $5 for children 10 and under, $10 for adults buying in advance, and $12 for adults at the door.

For more information, visit the group on the Web at  www.sipraise.yolasite.com or call (601)584-6200.
