CLARKDALE —
Two people died Thursday morning in a three-car wreck on Highway 145.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol identified the deceased as Veronica Mabry, 61, of Enterprise, and Roger Apperson, 55, of Meridian.
The accident occurred at 7:43 a.m. about 2 miles north of Clarkdale, near New Hope Baptist Church, said MHP Cpl. Andy West, who is the public affairs officer for Troop H and District 6.
The driver of a third vehicle, Laura Hester, was transported to an area hospital for evaluation, but did not appear to have life threatening injuries.
Mabry was traveling north on Highway 145 when her car collided with the two other vehicles, which were both traveling south.
One vehicle had an adult passenger and another children, none of whom suffered life threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident was under investigation at press time.
