MERIDIAN —
A Lauderdale County man was charged Thursday afternoon with lustful touching of a child.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie said Wendell Carl Robinson, 54, of Bolen Long Creek Road, was taken into custody late Wednesday night without incident. Robinson is in custody at the Lauderdale County jail on a $25,000 bond.
Sollie said a relative of a 5-year-old child reported that Robinson was allegedly caught in the act of inappropriately touching the child. Sollie said Robinson fled the home where the incident allegedly took place, but was located and arrested at his place of employment around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Sollie said the child did not require any medical treatment.
Sollie said the case will be presented to the next Lauderdale County grand jury.
