MERIDIAN —
Beginning at 8 a.m. today, the lobby of Vital Care of Meridian will be filled with items up for bid for a silent auction to benefit the upcoming American Cancer Society fundraiser, Relay For Life.
According to company representative Vanessa Taylor, the Vital Care Relay For Life Team has been working hard collecting donations from area businesses, including Best Bodies for Women, Spotted Pony, Loeb’s, Midsouth Tire Inc., South of the Border, First State Bank, World of Flowers & Gifts, The Daily Grind, Meridian Skin Care Clinic, Commercial Bank, Nail Connection, Premier Fabrics as well as many others.
"The public can come by Monday through Thursday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., to view and bid on items," Taylor said.
Winning bids will be announced Friday.
"You do not have to be present to win," Taylor said.
In addition to the silent auction, the Vital Care team will host their first Vital Care Relay For Life Crawfish Boil on Thursday, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Tickets for plates containing 2 pounds of mouth-watering crawfish prepared by Dennis Johnston of Cajun Cooking – along with corn and potatoes – can be purchased in advance for $10 by calling (601) 482-4003, or by visiting the office at 1501 23rd Ave. After 2 p.m., crawfish will be sold by the pound until all are gone.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to support Relay For Life, and to visit the state of the art facility at Vital Care of Meridian and learn more about the services offered," Taylor said.
