Patrol units and detectives with the Meridian Police Department were called early Friday morning to the Redline area of Meridian to a report of an armed robbery.
According to MPD Lt. Dean Harper, at about 12:15 a.m., a man walking down a sidewalk in the 1300 block of 18th Avenue was approached by what the victim described as two young males. One of the young men, the victim said, was armed with a handgun.
The victim told detectives the two suspects robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash and then ran away on foot.
Harper said the victim was not hurt in the incident.
