United Blood Services is asking everyone to show their patriotic pride by donating blood.
Each year United Blood Services sees a decrease in blood donation during the summer, especially around the July 4th holiday, as many people are vacationing and partaking in holiday festivities. This year United Blood Services reports the decrease in donations has started earlier than anticipated and is cause for concern. There is an immediate need for all Rh negative blood types, according to a news release issued Monday.
United Blood Services is asking residents to take the time to donate blood today to prevent inventory shortages and to ensure lifesaving blood is available for patients in need during this upcoming holiday.
