MERIDIAN —
Two men have been arrested in connection with a Monday shooting outside Eastern Garden Apartments in which a mother and her 10-month-old child were each shot in the arm.
Marvin "Flatnose" Horn, 21, and Montrell "G-Money" Croft, 22, both of Meridian, are each charged with three counts of aggravated assault and three counts of drive-by shooting, even though only two people were shot.
"Everyone that is shot at is a case of aggravated assault," MPD Capt. Dean Harper said.
The mother and child were not the targets of the shooting but were innocent bystanders, police said.
Horn was also charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm in an unrelated case. Bond for each of the two men was set at $1.1 million.
The shooting occurred at about 5 p.m. Monday. The mother was treated and released from a local hospital.
The infant was taken to Blair Baxton Children's Hospital in Jackson for treatment. She has since been released and is at home with her mother, police said.
