MERIDIAN —
East Central Community College has been given a record $2.68 million to be used for student scholarships, school officials announced at Thrash Auditiorum on the Decatur campus.
Scholarships will be available for qualified high school graduates who reside in the college’s five-county district in 2014-15, thanks to the donation by Frances Gaines Blum Slagle, a 1940 ECCC graduate and former Decatur resident, who included ECCC in her estate planning.
