MERIDIAN —
Jackson — Speaker of the House Philip Gunn is hitting the road this fall to visit towns around Mississippi in an effort to create an idea-sharing forum for all Mississippians, according to a press release from his office.
Gunn will be making various stops around the state beginning Monday. He will be on the third floor of City Hall at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The public is invited to attend. The meeting is expected to last one hour and 15 minutes.
Mississippi Solutions – an Ideas Tour is a nonpartisan town hall style meeting for all legislators, citizens and the press, according to the press release.
“After the session ended, I knew I wanted to hear from people around the state about their ideas they have for the future of Mississippi,” said Gunn, who also completed his first session as Speaker of the House in May. “We thought the best way to do this would be to set out on an Ideas Tour where we could hear from the public about topics they wanted to see addressed in future sessions.”
