How do you celebrate summer? By eating watermelon and ice cream, having picnic, going swimming, attending baseball games, visiting parks or just sitting in the cool shade?

The Collinsville Community Development Club celebrated summer by having a picnic at the Monday, July 16, 2012, meeting.

President Faye Houston welcomed club members to the picnic and Brother David Sellers led the group in prayer to bless the food.

Club members enjoyed a fun time, eating variety of picnic foods, watermelon and homemade ice cream.

The Yard of the Month Committee announced the Yard of the Month honorees: Dave and Beverly Scales, first place; Nell Mayatt, second place; Raeburn and Hope Mabry, third place.

President Faye Houston announced club members planned to tour the Kemper County Lignite Plant during the month.
