Don’t forget to vote

I was appalled at the low number of people who bothered to go and vote on June 9 for the Miss. House District 82 race. Have you just given up or just gotten lazy? There were handicapped voters during the day and there were tired people who came rushing in from work to vote. You could have done that.

I think it’s shameful. When you don’t do your part, you let a lot of people down. How can you ignore something as important as an election?

I worked all day today with a lump in my throat when I realized how many did not vote. How lazy we have become in a place that once was faithful and cared about their local and state government. Are you going to ignore your rights in future elections such as in 2010 and 2012? Thanks to those who still have it in your hearts and do the right thing.

Go to your polling place today and vote.

You owe it to the officials who work so hard for you. You owe it to the candidates. You owe it to yourselves.

Meridianites are all good people.

Please exercise your right to vote and surprise us with crowds of voters. I will bet that when you push that little card in the machine you will feel good about yourself instantly.

Please vote today.
