Please answer me a question. Who are the nations “rightful owners” of our nation’s wealth? Do we not have laws in place that could be used to prosecute the purveyors of misappropriation? Why aren’t they in jail? Why is no one asking the question?
If someone has more assets than you, have they wrongfully obtained them? Or have they worked hard, been blessed, been lucky, inherited it, won the lottery or did they come to your house and take it?
I realize that many can and do make the claim that they have not had the opportunity that others have had with the regard to the pursuit of wealth. This is true. Some start ahead of you on the track to success. Some don’t even know where the track is. Is it not true that those that have overcome the most on their way to success are the most inspirational? Our constitution does not guarantee that everyone will have the same starting position but it has allowed us to pursue it no matter where we start.
Chances are most of us do not rub shoulders with millionaires or billionaires. Chances are, for those who have managed to accumulate assets; they’ve done it through hard work. They were self starters or encouraged by their parents or others, they have worked hard to obtain technical or academic training to obtain marketable skills, they have made good decisions, sacrificed, worked when others were sleeping, worked when others were engaged in recreational endeavors. They have done whatever it took to dream and pursue goals. Please don’t tell me that these people have wrongfully obtained their assets.
If anyone knows of someone, alive today, that wrongfully (illegally) obtained their wealth it is your duty as an American citizen please contact your local law enforcement official.

Here’s my view!
I spoke at the last Meridian City Council meeting concerning pay for city employees. My intent was to inform the council that many city employees are not being paid equitable salaries. The clerk of the council and other city employees deserve to be paid a competitive salary.
