We need Stimulus Funding to be used for street repairs and traffic control in Meridian. My choices are:
1) Install new traffic lights at the intersection of Windmill Drive and Hwy 39 to allow safe entrance and exit for the school buses and parent's vehicles to and from Northeast Elementary. Let's keep our children and families safe!
2) Overlay the rough pavement at the intersection of Hwy 19 South and the Crossroads Shopping Center entrance. It's rough as a cob and heavily utilized. MDOT repaired the rough pavement on the opposite side leading to Sam's Club. So, why not this area?
3) Overlay the rough pavement for the exit turning south at the intersection of North Hills Street and Hwy 39. Ruffles have ridges, as they should, but our roads shouldn't!
There are many more road and street repairs that are needed and I hope you will make your recommendations known to our government officials.
None on my list are as important as the new traffic lights for Northeast Elementary. I encourage bus drivers, parents, students, teachers, and everyone else to make this request of our government officials.

Here’s my view!
I spoke at the last Meridian City Council meeting concerning pay for city employees. My intent was to inform the council that many city employees are not being paid equitable salaries. The clerk of the council and other city employees deserve to be paid a competitive salary.
