Thank you so much for all of your generosity toward the Young Professional of Meridian’s “Café Dumont – Beignet Breakfast." Our second year, while not without hiccups, was a great experience and a wonderful success. Your generosity allowed YPM with the funds raised, to contribute $1,900 to the 2009 United Way Campaign. That money will be matched by $1,900 with the United Way endowment for a total contribution of $3,800. I would especially like to thank: all those YPM members and their employers who graciously gave of their time and effort to make this successful, Mississippi Power and specifically Mrs. Paula Jones, the City of Meridian, Magnolia Beverage, McDonald & Hill, The Rustler, The Daily Grind, American Red Cross, Love’s Kitchen and so many generous others.
Chad Vaughn
YPM Chairman

Here’s my view!
I spoke at the last Meridian City Council meeting concerning pay for city employees. My intent was to inform the council that many city employees are not being paid equitable salaries. The clerk of the council and other city employees deserve to be paid a competitive salary.
