My grandson had a dream of wanting “Santa Claus” to bring him a “big little 4-wheeler.” Well “Santa” brought him a big little 4-wheeler. And on MLK day, within a matter of hours someone went into my son-in-law and daughter’s yard, literally picked up the 4-wheeler after removing the tarp that it was under and put it in a vehicle and drove off. Whoever took this baby’s DREAM should be ashamed of themselves. My daughter and her husband worked their butts off and some to get their son what he wanted the most. They did without things they needed or wanted to fulfill their son’s dream and the sad part is, that is ALL he wanted for Christmas. NOTHING ELSE. If the person or persons that took it is reading this, please take a look at it this way: if you’re an adult think about how you would feel if this was your child, at times having to listen to him cry himself asleep, after asking who took it or when will he get it back. How would you feel. If you are a child that took it, how would you like it if someone STOLE your stuff or perhaps a brother or sister’s stuff?
Please bring the 4-wheeler back, leave it at the end of the driveway of where you took it, we will not pursue it, if you can’t bring it back then go to the Bypass on Causeyville Road and get the numbers and call and tell us where you will leave it and we will go pick it up. Whoever took it is pretty dumb because you have to have a key to start it, unless you rip out the ignition. PLEASE BRING IT BACK FOR THE CHILD’S SAKE.
His dad, mom, pa-pa, and maw-maw have a dream and that is this child getting his stuff back. And all we are asking is for it to be brought back, hopefully in the shape you took it in. My Pea-Nut wants his 4-wheeler.

Here’s my view!
I spoke at the last Meridian City Council meeting concerning pay for city employees. My intent was to inform the council that many city employees are not being paid equitable salaries. The clerk of the council and other city employees deserve to be paid a competitive salary.
