World War IV is coming

Are we on the brink of World War IV? Yes, I said “IV” and, no, I did not make a mistake. You see, World War III began under the administration of Jimmy Carter on Nov. 4, 1979, when Iran took 66 Americans Hostage, and concluded in the early 1990s with the Berlin Wall being torn down.

Many acts of war were committed against America during that time. Among those acts of war were the blowing up of Marine barracks in Lebanon, the bombing of a Pan Am flight over Lockerbie, and the Achille Lauro hijacking, and others too numerous too mention.

By and large we treated these acts as a law enforcement problem and did nothing to stop them.

The lone exception came with Ronald Reagan. By rigging the world market in a way that drastically reduced the value of the old Soviet Union’s two largest exports, and then out-spending them on the buildup of weapons, the Soviet Union collapsed and it ultimately led to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Since you can’t have a World War with just one side willing to fight, World War III was fought and won with money in the place of bullets.

So, yes, we are on the brink of being involved in World War IV and regrettably we will not have the option of fighting and winning with only money. This one will cost many lives and may require a final showdown between the United States and China before it ends.
