In response to the letter, Republican stand against health care reform, abandons American people, I think the writer has obviously drunk too much of the “liberal kool aid”. When did it become inconsiderate and selfish for people to want to keep more of the fruits of their own labors? The writer speaks about the rich and well to do republicans representing the insurance companies, lobbyist and big business. Well, take another sip of the “democratic kool aid,” for you're going to need it after you read this.
This is one of the reasons I wrote my latest book, Don't Let Me Confuse You With The Truth! In my book I directly attack the democratic mantra of “republicans are for the rich and the democrats are for the poor”. Don't let me confuse you with the fact that the richest members of the house and senate are democrats. I am sure Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, with a net worth of over one billion dollars, understands the writer from Quitman, Mississippi. Maybe Senator Jay Rockefeller, democrat from West Virginia with a net worth of over two hundred million dollars, or perhaps Speaker Nancy Pelosi, democrat, California, with seventeen millions dollars, better represents the writer. The democratic “kool aid” makes you believe that someone owes you something even when you have not earned it or these rich democrats really care about you.
Here is another truth: in Mississippi over seven hundred thousand poor people are already covered by government health care. That is almost one fourth of all the people in Mississippi. Liberals never ask why there are so many poor people in this state or nation. For the liberal democrats, poor people are the fuel, or better said; fodder for the voting machine that keeps them in power. The last thing Democrats want is for jobs to come to Mississippi so that the people are able to purchase their own health care. Republicans want Mississippians to have better jobs and live independently. Democrats want the number of poor people to increase even if doing so will actually pull them from the ranks of the middle class, so they can all be dependent on the crumbs the fat cat democrats throw them from their well-fed tables.

Here’s my view!
I spoke at the last Meridian City Council meeting concerning pay for city employees. My intent was to inform the council that many city employees are not being paid equitable salaries. The clerk of the council and other city employees deserve to be paid a competitive salary.
