I know there are people that feel as I do about the way our Government is doing business in Washington. Some would say “business as usual”. As a citizen of this great nation, I am grieved that our government, that we the people elected, are giving the appearance of not doing what is best for America but more for party affiliations’. I’m really disappointed by the news stories about people that are in office that are oppose to a particular bill under consideration and suddenly are in support of it only to fine out later that they received some large funding for a project at home. Now don’t misunderstand, I’m not against funding for projects at home in any state but maybe now is just not the best time for this. It appears that party leaders are buying other Senators’ and Congressmen’s support for their Bill that is up for consideration. How about support for America as a whole, how about doing what is best for America? Giving us more debt, spending money like a drunken sailor is not the answer. There is not an endless pot of money for you to do with as you please. This whole process reminds me of the oldest profession in the world, you want something, here’s my price, you give it to me and I’m yours. Senator, Congressmen, what’s your price? Everything rises and falls on leadership, whether it be a home, business, county, state or a nation. It’s time for leadership in this great land of ours, it’s time for accountability and it’s time to be responsible to those who put their trust in you by electing you to go to Washington and be our voice there for us. Ladies and gentlemen in Washington, remember it’s of the people, by the people and for the people. That’s us at home, not those in those hallowed chambers where you meet.
