Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I would like to share a little story of thanks.

On May 31st of this year Jennifer, Mike, the grandsons and myself set out on a fishing trip. We arrived at the lake, all we had to do now is get some night crawlers from this secret bed. Rake the leaves with your hand and the ground starts to boil of worms. I bent down and raked the ground. What happened next was frightening to say the least. It was just like the commercial. It hit me in the center of my chest.

I knew it was bad but still wanted to wait to see if it would pass. Everyone asked if I was OK. I said give me a minute. I walked over to a railing and it was not getting better. I remember asking my daughter if she knew CPR? Mike helped me to the van and within minutes we were headed back to town. Mike had the 911 operator on the phone. They dispatched an Ambulance to meet us. The pain was getting much worse and I started telling everyone I loved them. The baby knew something was wrong and was screaming. I couldn't breath. The operator told Mike to tell me to calm down.

We met the ambulance and they got me assessed and prepped. When we got to the hospital the doctor confirmed that I was having a heart attack. Dr. Touchtone and his team were there and were able to get me into the cath lab where they put in two stints.

So as I look across the table this Thanksgiving at the people gathered here and look into the eyes of my grandsons. I am filled with so much thanks. Thank you Jennifer and Mike for being there and your quick actions. You started the events that saved my life. I am thankful for the 911 operator, Metro Ambulance, the doctors and nurses and staff at Anderson's hospital. Thank you!! I wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving.
