Shocked by coffin

Wednesday, while watching the Veteran's Day parade, I enjoyed seeing the bands, floats and military groups represented. Then all of a sudden, a man pulling a flag-draped "coffin" passed. My jaw hit the floor. As the sister, granddaughter, and niece of veterans, I was overcome with shock. How could anyone think that a flag-draped coffin would be a suitable tribute for a Veterans Day Parade? I fully understand wanting to honor those who gave their all, but this is not way(or the Day) to do that. I believe that is reserved for Memorial Day. Veterans Day is set aside to honor and celebrate our Veterans. To thank them for their service to this country and show our appreciation, not remind them of their funeral.
