Meridian Police Department



The Meridian Police Department reported the following suspected non-traffic violations between 4 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday.



• Simple assault — Norbert Ruffin, 52, 200 2354 B-22. Ruffin was also charged with trespassing.

• Driving under the influence, second offense — Bradley Bynum, 27, 511 41st Ave. Bynum was also charged with careless driving.

• DUI, second offense — Kendrick Martin, 28, 5189 Fisher Road

• Simple assault — Trudy Johnson, 46, 3017 40th Ave.

• Resisting arrest — Douglas Gray, 32, 2109 Valley View Drive. Gray was also charged with speeding, seat belt violation, no proof of insurance and driving with a suspended driver’s license.





Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department



The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following suspected non-traffic violations between 4 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday.

• Embezzlement — Vincent Brown, 35, 3701 40th Ave.

• Possession of cocaine — James Britain, 37, 3824 36th Ave.

• DUI, first offense — John Grady, 24, DeKalb. Grady was also charged with speeding and reckless driving.

• DUI, second offense — Reco Toole, 32, 1403 43rd Ave. Toole was also charged with driving without a seat belt, driving without a driver’s license and careless driving.

• False pretense (bad check) — Tito Turner, 33, 2503 46th Ave.

The Meridian Fire Department reported the following runs for Saturday.

• Emergency medical service — Eastern Gardens

• Motor vehicle accident — Roebuck Drive

• EMS — Bonita Circle

• Motor vehicle accident — 23rd Street

• EMS — Avenue A

• Vehicle fire — Eighth Avenue

• EMS — St. Andrews Street

• Building fire — 40th Avenue

• Building fire — 35th Avenue

• Gas leak — 26th Avenue

• Unauthorized burning — Highway 45 North

• EMS — North Frontage Road

• EMS — 24th Avenue



Lauderdale County volunteer fire departments’ runs for Saturday were not available.





Ambulance Runs



Metro Ambulance made 42 runs between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday.
