Outstanding accomplishments

Recently the Lauderdale County 4-H Advisory Council recognized 4-H members for their outstanding 4-H Accomplishments. This year’s theme was “Green People Doing Great Things!” We had a lot of 4-H’ers and Volunteer Leaders to accomplish great things this year.

The 2005-2006 4-H Awards Program was held at the East Mississippi Electric Power Association Auditorium with Sharon Busler, 4-H Advisory Council President, bringing the welcome. She also thanked our 4-H sponsors who are AmSouth Bank, Atlas Roofing Corporation, Bell South, Brainstorm Advertising, Sharon and Charlie Busler, Citizens National Bank, Commercial Bank, Community Bank, EMEPA, Great Southern National Bank, Lauderdale County Supervisors, Lauderdale County Farm Supply, Maples Gas Company, Markey E. Joiner Construction, McDonald and Hill, Inc., McElroy Eclectic Co., Meridian Coca-Cola Co., Meyer and Rosenbaum, Inc., Perfect Promotions, Murry Rogers, Trustmark Bank, and Waters International Trucks.

Alan Coldfelter, 4-H Advisory Council Member led a 4-H Memorial service to honor those who passed away during the year who were affiliated with 4-H.

Fifty-four 4-H members received certificates of their accomplishments at District and State 4-H events.

Laurie won first place in the state with her 4-H Photography Record and Lydia placed first with her Conservation Record. Lydia will attend the National 4-H Congress Event in Atlanta, Georgia, in November.

Being selected as a National 4-H Conference delegate is one of the highest honors a Mississippi 4-H’er can obtain. This year Symone Bounds was one of six 4-H’ers statewide selected to attend the 77th National 4-H Conference. Symone was presented a 4-H Clock by last year’s delegate, Summer Lucky.
