Pratt, Flint

MERIDIAN — Mrs. and Mrs. James Wright of Bruce and Mr. Ben Pratt of Corinth announce the engagement of their daughter, Bethany Lauren Pratt, to Dr. Jon Thomas Flint, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Flint of Meridian.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 5 p.m., at Bruce United Methodist Church in Bruce.    

    Miss Pratt is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mildred Pratt Norman and the late Joseph Rady Pratt of Corinth, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Crabb of Chewalla, Tenn.

    The bride-elect is a cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she received a bachelor of science degree in dietetics and nutrition in May 2011. She is a 2007 honors graduate of Bruce High School.

    While attending Ole Miss, she was president of the Student Dietetic Association, president of Kappa Omicron Nu honor society, on the School of Applied Sciences President’s Council and an Ole Miss First Scholar. She was recognized as Dietetic Undergraduate Student of the Year by the Mississippi Dietetic Association.     Miss Pratt is currently a dietetic intern pursuing her master’s degree in food and nutrition services from the University of Mississippi, where she is a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

    Dr. Flint is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Gertrude “Trudy” Flint and the late Raymond Herbert Flint, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dennis, all of Meridian.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated summa cum laude from the University of Mississippi, where he received a bachelor of arts degree in biochemistry in May 2008. He then proceeded to the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in Jackson. He is a 2004 honors graduate of Meridian High School.

    While attendng Ole Miss, Dr. Flint received the Taylor Medal and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. At UMC School of Dentistry, he received the International College of Oral Implantologist Award, the Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics Award and the Wallace V. Mann Jr. Award. Dr. Flint also was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society.

    Dr. Flint is currently an associate dentist at Gilmore Family Dentistry in Meridian.

    A reception will follow at Bruce Forestry Museum.

    Friends and family are invited to attend.
