Makey, Mauldin


Dr. and Mrs. David Arthur Makey of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Caroline Elizabeth, to Joseph Clayton Mauldin II, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Carroll Mauldin of Columbus.

The wedding will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans, La.

Miss Makey is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Robertson Makey of London, England, Christina Wallace of Dublin, Ireland and the late William Wallace.

The bride-elect received a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from the University of Mississippi. Later she attended Vanderbilt University School of Nursing where she received her Masters of Science in Nursing. She is a graduate of Lamar High School.

Miss Makey is currently a nurse practitioner for the heart transplant program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Mr. Mauldin is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clayton Mauldin and the late Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Cooper Vaughan.

The bridegroom-elect received a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and later Master of Science in Information Systems from Mississippi State University. He is a graduate of Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Ga.

He is currently employed by KraftCPAs firm in Nashville where he is an information technology security auditor.

A reception will be held at Muriel’s Jackson Square following the ceremony.
