Tim and Bertha Melton of Atlanta, Ga. announce the engagement of their daughter, Sharon, to Pascual Andre Thedford, son of Phenique Boyd of Meridian and Willie Roberts of Newton.
The wedding will be Aug. 22, 2009, at 2 p.m., at Eastwood Presbyterian Church.
Miss Melton is the granddaughter of Lillie Melton.
The bride-elect received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Tuskegee University. She is a graduate of Fredrick Douglas High School.
While attending Tuskegee, she was a member of Christian Sisterhood and Camp Outreach.
Miss Melton is employed by Veteran Affairs Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Thedford is the grandson of W.C. and Fannie Thedford of Porterville.
The bridegroom-elect received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Tuskegee University. He is a graduate of Northeast High School.
While attending Tuskegee, he was a member of Camp Outreach and a member of the football team.
Mr. Thedford is employed by Target in the logistics department.
A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony.
