Mr. and Mrs. William Boswell Jacob Sr. of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Leigh, to Edgar Miller Baker Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Miller Baker Sr. of Raeford, N.C.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at 6 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Meridian.
Miss Jacob is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul B. Jacob Sr. of Starkville, Marie Beck of Meridian and the late James Beck of Starkville.
The bride-elect received a bachelor of business administration degree from Mississippi State University. She is a graduate of Lamar High School.
Miss Jacob was formerly employed by Citizens National Bank.
Mr. Baker is the grandson of Sue Baker and the late Charles David Baker and Mrs. Bill Kelly and the late Julian S. Johnson Jr. of Raeford.
The bridegroom-elect received a bachelor's and master's degree in aerospace engineering from North Carolina State. He is a graduate of Hoke County High School.
Mr. Baker was formerly a lieutenant commander Navy pilot. He currently manages Cross Creek Seed Inc. in Raeford.
A reception will be held at Northwood Country Club following the ceremony.
