Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jackson Owen III of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Lauren, to Dustin Joseph Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Howard Hill of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tatum Moore Jr. of Enterprise.
The wedding will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Meridian.
Miss Owen is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jackson Owen Jr. of Huntsville, Ala. and Muriel Frances Gilbert and the late William Walter Gilbert of Talladega, Ala.
The bride-elect received a master of business administration degree from Mississippi State University and a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from the University of Alabama. She is a graduate of Meridian High School.
While attending the University of Alabama, she was a member of the University Honors Program, Alpha Lambda Delta honor society, Phi Eta Sigma honor society, and Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Miss Owen is currently employed by United Blood Services in Meridian.
Mr. Hill is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Earl Hill Sr. of Meridian and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvis Earl Wedgworth of Meridian.
The bridegroom-elect received a bachelor of science degree in microbiology from Mississippi State University. He is a graduate of Lamar High School.
While attending MSU, he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.
Mr. Hill is employed by McDonald & Hill, Inc. and Pigford and Corey Realtors in Meridian.
A reception will be held at The Gathering Place.
