MERIDIAN —
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Allen Newell of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashlyn Nicole, to Justin Allen Palmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Allen Palmer of Meridian.
The wedding will be Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at 3 p.m., at Northcrest Baptist Church in Meridian.
Miss Newell is the granddaughter of Mrs. Irene Newell and the late Mr. Richard L. Newell Sr. of Meridian and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Walters of Meridian.
The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where she received a bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising and apparel studies. She is also a graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School.
Miss Newell is employed by Dillard’s.
Mr. Palmer is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Palmer of Longview, Texas, Mrs. Mary Peets and the late Mr. Dan Peets of Starkville, Mr. and Mrs. William Jones and the late Mr. James Shands Worthy of New Albany. The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where he received a bachelor's degree in community health sciences with an emphasis in healthcare policy and administration. He is also a graduate of Lamar School.
Mr. Palmer is employed by Rush Health Systems.
A reception will be held at The Palms following the ceremony.
