Cain, Tucker

MERIDIAN —



    Dr. and Mrs. Louis Ray Cain of Decatur, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Erica Lee, to Jason Andrew Tucker, son of Mrs. Lora Burt Tucker of Meridian and Mr. Val Michael Tucker of Dyersville, Tenn.

    The wedding will be Saturday, July 14, 2012, at 2:30 p.m., at First Bible Church of Decatur.

    Miss Cain is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mack R. Weathersby of Clinton and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Allen Cain of Flowood.

    The bride-elect graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in English from Mississippi State University, and received a master of education degree from Vanderbilt University. She also attended the Universidad de Alcala de Henares, Madrid, Spain. Miss Cain is a 2006 graduate of Austin High School, where she was valedictorian.   

    Her clubs and organizations affiliations include Chi Omega sorority, the Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry and Phi Kappa Phi.

    Beginning in August, Miss Cain will be employed by Wooddale High School in Memphis, Tenn., where she will teach English as a second language.

    Mr. Tucker is the grandson of Mrs. Merita Smith Ellis of Tupelo and the late Dr. Bert Hale Ellis, and Mrs. Anne Catlett Kimbriel of Meridian and the late Mr. Edward C. Tucker.

    The bridegroom-elect received a bachelor of architecture degree from Mississippi State University with Tau Sigma Delta honors. He also attended the Accademia di Firmitas et Venustas, Verona, Italy. Mr. Tucker attended St. Patrick School and is a 2004 honors graduate of Meridian High School.

    His clubs and organizations affiliations include Beta Upsilon Chi fraternity, the Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry and the American Institute of Architects. In Meridian, he was a member of Upbeat Community Orchestra and Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church, where he was active in their music ministry. 

    Mr. Tucker is employed as an architect for the Renaissance Group in Memphis.

    A reception will be held at the church immediately following the ceremony.

    Family and friends are invited to attend.
